Hi, I’m Cynthia! I’m the founder of Sunny Spoon Bakery and mom to two pups, Chloe and Sunny. I’m so excited you’re here! I look forward to building relationships with all of my customers – near and far – and can’t wait to help you find the right treats for all the members of your family.

Is your background in culinary arts?

Nope! In fact, baking isn’t even my day job. I’m an experienced project manager. Being detailed and keeping things organized are my strong suit, and I love having the opportunity to apply those skills to my own business.

So, why baking?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved baking.

One thing I’ve learned over the course of my career is that we’re all more than just one “thing”. I’m constantly evaluating what’s important to me, what I’m good at and what type of person I want to be. My family, friends and pets are always at the top of that list, and baking is my passion and my creative outlet. It seemed like a logical step to combine the things I love most, all while having the opportunity to create something that brings joy to my customers and their furry friends.

Tell me about your dogs!

My pups are like children to me. I've been a dog person since I was a kid, and I finally started my dog family just over 10 years ago.

I adopted Chloe as an 8-week old puppy. She was born in my best friend’s basement to a boxer that was pregnant when she was rescued.

Sunny came to Chloe and me as a 3-year old mom of six pups. I fostered her and her little family and fell in love. It took some time, but she’s acclimated to no longer being a stray and having the comforts of a home and sister.

How did you come up with the name Sunny Spoon?

By now you’ve learned that Sunny is one of my dogs – but that doesn’t mean I’m picking favorites. Sunny was named for her cheerful disposition, and I hope that this bakery brings joy and sunshine to my customers the very same way that my pets bring joy to my life.

What are your favorite Sunny Spoon treats?

Lemon Layer Cake with Lemon Cream Cheese Buttercream and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. Apple Carrot Dog Biscuits are Chloe and Sunny’s favorite, with the Blueberry Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits as a close second. Don't ask me how I know. I just do.
